This week, AudioCodes (News - Alert) and RedSky announced a newly minted partnership, which is aimed at delivering RedSky E911 calling in hosted IP environments. AudioCodes is enabling this functionality via the integration of the RedSky Horizon Mobility system with the AudioCodes 400 HD series IP phones and SBCs, with the initial release geared toward BroadSoft (News - Alert) BroadWorks environments.

REdSky’s Horizon Mobility leverages the NENA i3 Next Generation 9-1-1 architecture to allow for a phone to continuously request location information to ensure when an emergency call is placed the phone can send its location data to the 9-1-1 dispatch center. The integration between the SIP-based technology and the RedSky E911 Anywhere Cloud supports calls to and from any 9-1-1 contact center in Canada and the United States.

And, with the newly announced collaboration between AudioCodes and RedSky’s Horizon Mobility, callers and emergency operators enjoy a seamless, unified communications experience.
