IP Phone Maker Yealink's Devices Now Certified Interoperable with Epygi Technologies' IP-PBXs
By Patrick Barnard, Group Managing Editor, TMCnet

If you’re going to deploy a full-featured, state-of-the-art IP-PBX (News - Alert), then it only makes sense to match it up with full-featured, state-of-the-art IP phones. Otherwise, you’re simply not getting the most out of what your phone system can deliver.

As such, Epygi Technologies’ IP-PBXs are now certified interoperable with Yealink Network Technology’s SIP-T2x series enterprise HD IP phones. This pairing of Epygi’s IP-PBXs to Yealink’s (News - Alert) IP phones means small to medium sized businesses can now quickly and affordably deploy a full-featured phone system with Fortune 500 feature sets and capabilities.

Epygi (News - Alert) offers a full line of IP-PBXs geared for small to medium sized businesses. Depending on the model selected, the company’s Quadro line of IP-PBXs supports anywhere from two to 32 IP phones – in addition to analog phones – plus they can easily be expanded to support additional lines all the way up to about 400 extensions. Currently the company offers about 11 different models.

All of the company’s IP-PBXs deliver advanced features and functionality, including auto attendant with IVR capabilities, multi-party conferencing, hunt groups, simultaneous ring and voicemail (with a bunch of different management options, including the ability to record personalized greetings for specific callers and the ability to transfer a call to any voicemail box), as well as all the basic features on expects, such as call hold, call transfer, call waiting, call park, etc. The company’s IP-PBX software also supports unified messaging, including the ability to integrate different message types (voicemail, email, text messaging, fax) into a single box that is accessible from a variety of devices (phone, PC, mobile phone, PDA).

New features and capabilities recently announced by Epygi include: automatic call distribution (ACD), with smart call queuing and call handling, which is ideal for companies with small call centers (only available on the QuadroM32x); SIP call recording (also only available on the QuadroM32x, but soon to be available on the Quadro4x and Quadro16x products); click to dial from Web sites (enabling calls to be initiated from a Web site); and hot desking (which permits multiple users to share the same phone (IP or analog).

Additional features include: streaming hold music (which lets on-hold parties to listen to music streamed by an external RTP streamer playing MP3 files); call detail reporting (CDR) export (giving user the ability to configure the Quadro to export call detail records (CDR) to external servers for further processing; and IP phone configuration file templates (the default auto-configuration templates of leading IP phone models can now be modified for unique customer needs). In addition to offering IP-PBXs, Epygi also offers VoIP gateways and conference servers.

Meanwhile Yealink’s SIP-T2x series enterprise HD IP Phones (including SIP-T28P/SIP-T26P/SIP-T22P/SIP-T20P), equipped with the TI TITAN chipset and TI Voice Engine, offer high definition voice, a broad range of voice codecs, security protection for privacy, and rich features including BLF/BLA, PoE and Pnp auto-provisioning.

By combining Epygi’s IP-PBXs with Yealink’s IP phones, businesses can connect geographically-dispersed branch offices while managing all PBX features from the central office. Remote workers and home offices can also benefit from the system’s productivity-enhancing features and capabilities.
