SeaChange International Partners with AirTies to Deliver In-Home Wireless Video and Data Services

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributing Editor

SeaChange International (News - Alert), a provider of software applications, services and solutions for IPTV, Video-On-Demand (VOD), digital advertising, and content acquisition, has entered into a partnership with AirTies to deliver next generation in-home wireless distribution of high-quality video and data services.

The pact is expected to expedite the deployment of advanced IPTV (News - Alert) services by eliminating truck rolls and quickly enabling televisions and personal computers with sophisticated, wireless data and video applications within each home.

“Operators around the globe need IPTV solutions that can be rolled out quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively. The combination of SeaChange’s TV Navigator middleware and AirTies’ M-140 set-top box creates the first wireless IPTV solution that is easy to bring into the home and brings sophisticated applications, like Caller-ID and Games, to multiple television sets and computers by pressing a single button,” said Bill Styslinger, president and CEO of SeaChange, in a statement.

“Automatic provisioning of the service is done by the household consumer, who also enjoys automatic software upgrades through a broadband connection,” Styslinger added.

TV Navigator is SeaChange’s next generation client platform for telco, cable, and hybrid operators. It accelerates the creation and delivery of revenue-generating applications. M-140 is a sleek, small, fanless, and cost-effective MPEG2 and H.264 set-top box for IPTV and Video-On-Demand applications.

SeaChange will also continue to work with AirTies on projects in various countries including Greece, Ukraine, India, Brazil, Germany, and Israel.

“Our partnership with SeaChange is 100 percent customer-driven. We see the challenges the international market is having with the deployment of IPTV, and we are convinced that together we can easily bring wireless IPTV solutions to households throughout various regions,” said Bulent Celebi, CEO of AirTies.

AirTies develops and markets wireless products that provide 4 fundamental services (high speed internet access/ADSL, Wireless LANs, internet based telephony/VoIP, Wife phones and internet based television/IPTV) for service providers, small businesses and consumers in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region.

AirTies is now aiming to expand into the European broadband market. SeaChange International is a leading provider of software applications, services and integrated solutions for IPTV, Video-On-Demand (VOD), digital advertising, and content acquisition monetization and management.

Its powerful open VOD and advertising software and scaleable hardware enable cable and telco operators, as well as broadcasters, to provide new on-demand services and to gain greater efficiencies in advertising and content delivery.
