technology for telepresence. The MAKO-HD dual stream technology combines WXGA support, HiLo streaming, and graphics overlay to suit the most demanding telepresence and streaming applications. It is the world’s fastest HD codec. The MAKO-HD achieves a remarkable 70 milliseconds of end to end latency at HD resolutions up to 1080p.
The inputs for HD video and computer signals can both be supported at the same time with MAKO-HD’s new dual stream feature. It can send out up to full motion 60 frames per second to many network locations either in multicast or unicast. It can also be recorded synchronously with the video in real-time.
The new version also facilitates HiLo streaming that is helpful when bridging high-performance video sessions to internet content delivery systems, such as Flash web video servers by Wowza Media. Here, a single encoder is used to transmit a low-resolution replica of its high-definition stream simultaneously. This is used for session monitoring and web-based media distribution.
They have also made use of a graphics overlay feature surrounded by the encoder and decoder sections of the codec. This makes the source and destination streams easy to identify, and displays them as elegant logo insertions.
Peter Maag, VP of Marketing, HaiVision said, “We are very pleased with the maturity of the MAKO-HD product. With the MAKO-HD 8.1 features, we further enhance our capability within telepresence and pave the way for exciting new media distribution opportunities.”
