ChinaCache to Help in China Wi-Fi TV Delivery

By Michelle Robart, TMCnet Editor

Wi-Fi TV today announced that it has signed a service agreement with ChinaCache, a content delivery network (CDN) service provider, to enable the delivery of Wi-Fi TV's Social Internet TV platform to China.

Under the terms of the agreement, Wi-Fi TV will work closely with ChinaCache on a phased introduction of Wi-Fi TV to the China market.

The strategic launch of Wi-Fi TV in China will begin with ChinaCache assuming all global hosting of Wi-Fi TV's global Web site from its California office. Wi-Fi TV intends to introduce a new Chinese language Web site specifically for the China market and to collaborate with additional Chinese businesses and deliver the site though ChinaCache on the Chinese mainland.

"We look forward to a long-term partnership based approach to bringing the next generation of Wi-Fi TV's web site to China. By teaming up with ChinaCache we know that we have the scalable infrastructure necessary to meet our strategic goals," said Alex Kanakaris, CEO, Wi-Fi TV.

"Wi-Fi TV is creating the next generation of Internet TV, our proprietary Wi-FiLifeStream(TM), with China as an integral part of the concept. We are honored to be a part of the growth of the Internet in China, which is rapidly becoming the #1 marketplace in the world for the Internet," Kanakaris added.

ChinaCache provides a wide range of streaming and video delivery services to its domestic and international customers in the media and entertainment industries across China.

"Wi-Fi TV has been a pioneer in the delivery of Internet TV. With the fast growing streaming video market in China, ChinaCache will assist Wi-Fi TV in meeting its goals of growth internationally. ChinaCache is excited to help Wi-Fi TV with its important launch into the China market," said Joe Zhu, general manager for ChinaCache North America.

As an Internet TV provider, Wi-Fi TV has long publicized the coming convergence of TV and the Internet, and provided the first online movie in December 1995.

Launched in 1995, Wi-Fi TV provides Social Internet TV, a new generation TV delivery platform that has a geographic sphere out-distancing any traditional cable or over-the-air TV broadcaster.

On the Wi-Fi TV Web site (www.Wi-FiTV.com) users can watch hundreds of TV stations on the Internet, and chat with others watching the same program in a live chat box directly under the viewing screen. They can also get breaking news for each country and category listed, download a free dialer and make phone calls, and host live video parties.

Established in 1998, ChinaCache is a China-based content distribution network (CDN) service provider. The company strives to provide innovative and customized CDN solutions and services to create long-term value and potential growth for its customers.
China Cache's CDN network is interconnected with all major carriers in China, including China Telecom (News - Alert), China Netcom, China Mobile, China Unicom, China Railcom, and China Cernet.
