Avistar Communications Corporation recently announced its alliance with Paradial (

traversal technology into the C3 (

Avistar (

Alert) selected Paradial after a complete market evaluation of various firewall traversal technology providers, and embedded Paradial's RealTunnel Firewall/NAT

into all versions of Avistar C3.
This will enable organizations to link their personnel with face-to-face communications and collaboration tools without location and connectivity acting as barriers.
"We were impressed by Paradial's dedicated solutions, and pleased to find a partner that has established relationships with other leading vendors in the video and IP

(Internet Protocol) communications industry which complement those at Avistar. This helps towards universal adoption of multimedia standards that are vital to the success of unified communications," remarked Chris Lauwers, chief technology officer at Avistar.
Avistar C3’s bandwidth management will help utilize desktop videoconferencing, Voice over IP (VoIP

) and streaming media, without the need for additional investments in new networks.
"With Paradial, Avistar has taken a significant step forward in increasing the availability -- and therefore the impact – of videoconferencing and collaboration tools in the workplace," said Lauwers.
"Our C3 software is now capable of independently managing interconnectivity with different vendor systems, and is a cinch to deploy and manage. These factors make it realistic, indeed even compelling, to extend the rollout of more effective video-enabled communications beyond the borders of an enterprise to include external clients, suppliers and home-based or mobile workers," Lauwers explained.
The C3 software has been used for the development of the SCN (Securities Community Network) used in the financial services sector for interaction between buy-side and sell-side research groups and their corporate customers. With improved communication and collaboration, it will enable security professional to share their time-sensitive and valuable information with contacts in the industry.
Avistar’s and Paradial’s partnership has made the SCN easily available to financial sector firms and corporate clients who will directly be launched into the community network by downloading the SCN software.
"A key challenge for the video communications industry is to move from being an intra- to an inter-company solution. The agreement to embed our software within Avistar C3 means video and audio collaboration traffic can flow outside of the corporate network without hassle or compromise to security,” stated Ingvar Aaberg, chief executive officer of Paradial.
