TidalTV Selects MPS Broadband for Content Management Solution

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributing Editor

TidalTV, Inc. has selected MPS Broadband to provide the MPS Content Management Solution in support of their broadband television platform.

This is the first major content aggregator for MPS Broadband in the North American market. As part of the agreement entered between the two companies, MPS Broadband will automate and simplify the ingestion, management and publishing of content for the TidalTV platform.

"MPS Broadband's technical capabilities, rapid roll-out and commitment to customer service were key factors in our selection of the MPS platform," said David Ellison, TidalTV's vice president of operations, in a statement. "Their years of experience with a wide range of implementations will help address TidalTV's distinct requirements with ease and flexibility."

TidalTV is a free broadband television platform featuring the professionally produced, branded programming. The TidalTV experience is designed to complement and enhance traditional television viewing through its unique combination of programmed and on-demand shows with DVR-style controls. There is no application to download and no fees to pay.

"TidalTV is a great partner to work with in the North American market," said Anders Nilsson, CEO of MPS Broadband. "We are pleased to be working with such an innovative and intelligent team and equally impressive platform."

"Our extensive experience coupled with the ability to provide a dynamic and scalable solution for TidalTV helped to differentiate MPS from the competition and establish a clear competitive advantage," added Ivan Lopez, vice president of business development.

MPS Broadband has offices in Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States. The core foundation of all MPS Products and Services is the MPS Publishing Platform (MPP), which is an end-to-end content management platform for web-TV, IPTV and mobile video.

The MPP is a robust, scalable and highly-functional digital publishing platform hosted and powered by Verizon Business (News - Alert) on their global IP backbone.

TidalTV, Inc. recently announced the beta launch of its streaming broadband television service, which offers free and instant access to programming that reflects the lifestyles, passions and interests of a diverse viewing audience.

With a look and play like TV, TidalTV offers a wide selection of premium, branded shows (i.e., no home videos here) from your favorite networks and enthusiast programming providers, including NBC News, MSNBC, National Geographic Channel, Scripps Networks, TV Guide Network, The Wall Street Journal Digital Network and more.
