BNS, the IP solutions provider in Asia has been selected by Indonesian telecommunications provider PT. Multi Kontrol Nusantara (MKN) which is a subsidiary of Bakrie Group of companies. The assignment involves the design and procurement of a turnkey HD & SD IPTV (

Alert) service platform.
The service is expected to be launched in the Rasuna area in Jakarta by this year end and the service will be launched throughout the entire country within three years.
Through BNS’ IPTV Service Platform design, MKN will be able to deliver high and standard definition video services like multicast, VOD, Network PVR, Time-Shift-TV, eShopping, games besides others.
The network’s infrastructure will include core fiber backbone, metro Ethernet and other broadband access network technologies. These offer cost effective and reliable delivery of multimedia services as required by residential customers, office buildings and hotels.
The BNS IPTV solution will also include an IP-centric IPTV head which will offer MNK a cost-effective solution for seamlessly migrating to future generation IP video systems later.
The vendor agnostic approach followed by BNS will enable MNK to procure quality equipment from BNS’s global partners including major IPTV components of the platform. These include video encoder, ingestion system, streaming server, content security, middleware and IP Set-Top-Box.
BNS will assist MNK by providing a content strategy so that MNK can differentiate its service with content that is more appropriate for the Indonesian population. BNS will be offering this service through its Content 360 business division.
