ICOP Equips Two New Customers with Digital In-car Video

By Shireen Dee, TMCnet Contributing Editor

ICOP Digital recently announced that it has formed relationships with two new customers in Alabama and Ohio that have placed purchase orders for its ICOP Model 20/20-W digital in-car video systems. ICOP Digital designs, engineers, and markets in-car digital video systems which include cameras and a hard disk drive that are primarily used by law enforcement agencies. It can also be used in fire departments, emergency medical services, and public transportation systems.

While the Alabama orders totaled $176,000, the Ohio order amounted to $76,000. In Alabama, ICOP has already shipped 35 units to a law enforcement agency that operates a 40-car patrol fleet and has shipped around 15 units to an Ohio-based law enforcement agency operating a fleet of 22 patrol cars.
"Similar to the recently announced $203,000 order received from a federal policing agency supporting a U.S. military base, the units shipped to the agency in Ohio were purchased pursuant to our GSA (News - Alert) (General Services Administration) Schedule contract," stated Laura Owen, president and chief operating officer of ICOP.
"The effort that went into winning ICOP GSA Schedule status is serving us well, giving many new customers freedom to avoid traditional full and open competitive bidding processes," Owen added.
A digital in-car video recorder system for law enforcement, the ICOP Model 20/20-W is said to be one of ICOP’s award winning products. While ICOP LIVE is capable of simultaneously delivering live video wirelessly both to first responders over any wireless network and to multiple Internet enabled Windows devices. It can also deliver live streaming video to and from first responder vehicles and headquarters and help them in crisis situations with enhanced real-time situational awareness and actionable intelligence.
"ICOP is also pleased to see that key initiatives focused on expanding and supporting our global network of independent dealers is resulting in material sales opportunities and new customer growth for our company. This is evidenced by an increasing number of orders originating from our valued dealer network, including this sale of ICOP Model 20/20-W systems to the Alabama agency," concluded Owen.
ICOP’s latest product, ICOP Model 4000 is an advanced surveillance solution which allows for wireless file uploading and wireless video streaming. As its DVR (digital video recorder) system uses less power when compared to traditional DVRs, it generates less heat and therefore is a more reliable unit which has lower downtime.
