and Microsoft RTAudio codec.
TANDBERG is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, and the development based on the license is expected to enable participants to experience “optimal video and audio quality” when connecting between Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 and TANDBERG video systems.
As per the agreement, Microsoft will license to TANDBERG its proprietary default video codec, RTVideo codec, and audio codec, RTAudio codec, used in Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 and Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007.
This latest licensing agreement provides TANDBERG the ability to mix RTVideo codec users with other standards-based high-definition over H.264 users. TANDBERG currently provides an extensive range of support for video and audio codecs.
According to TANBERG, now, high-quality video and audio can be delivered between the Office Communications Server 2007 environment and other standards-based video conferencing solutions.
Indicating that customers seek high-definition videoconferencing and telepresence solutions offering interoperability with Microsoft's unified communications platform, Fredrik Halvorsen, CEO at TANDBERG, commented in a statement, “This technology license will drive further enhancements to the customer experience and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to Microsoft technologies and unified communications.”
