Aliant TV Now Offering More Advanced Features

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Aliant, Atlantic Canada's information and communications technology provider, is now providing consumers with more advanced features than ever before.

The company claims to have become the first in Atlantic Canada to utilize an innovative new technology to provide customers with industry-leading digital picture clarity on their Aliant TV service.

The company has also said Aliant TV is now available on up to three television sets in the home, providing more convenience than ever before.

"Our customers' favorite shows will be sharper and clearer as a result of our investment in MPEG-4 technology," Claudine Langan, Aliant's Director of Consumer Marketing said.

"Our customers can now enjoy our value-packed television service on up to three televisions - large or small - delivering a high-quality digital viewing experience."

Aliant said it will be offering better quality at competitive pricing. This mean, Aliant TV customers can pay $29 per month for the first 12 months ($39 after that) for 70 TV channels and 98 radio and music stations, including their choice of 14 theme packages and commercial-free movies.

Aliant also recently added new channels to the line up including Gol TV, Wild TV, The Fight Network, Bloomberg and Bite TV and continues to enhance its broadband network to deliver innovative IP-based services like Aliant TV.

Since 2000, Aliant has invested over $370 million to build and maintain the broadband network required to deliver High-Speed Internet and enhanced services throughout Atlantic Canada.
