As a community, we all recognize the need to recognize those that help protect our interests here at home as well as abroad — our military and emergency personnel.
Such recognition has long since taken place at the local level — at ball games, schools, parades, and more. Obviously, catastrophic events like 9/11 and Katrina have resulted in nationwide acknowledgement as well. Quite simply, there are so many who should be recognized for their contributions, spread across the country, which makes it difficult to coordinate wide-scale events. While interest might also be widespread, there is little incentive for television networks to broadcast such events from thousands of miles away.
Fortunately, IP

Communications technology makes it easy to distribute video feeds from such events not only nationally, but globally as well.
Today, Paltalk (
News -
Alert), is taking advantage of the global reach of the Internet to provide coverage of “Salute to Our Heroes,” a celebration to honor U.S. soldiers and their families. The event is scheduled for 12:30pm – 11pm CDT at Hood Stadium on Fort Hood in Texas.
Paltalk is a real-time video-based community, combining chat, voice, and video, enabling users to not only communicate easily, but to also share videos or watch content with friends or colleagues. In this case, Paltalk will stream live footage of today’s event, which will be available to the entire Paltalk community.
The celebration will include a variety of musical acts, special guests, and a number of interactive activities — from becoming NASCAR crew member to miniature stock car racing to enjoying the USO game bus

.

Through the
Paltalk service, which is available via a free online download, users across the globe will be able to access and view coverage of the event. But Paltalk is more than that — viewers will also be able to interact with one another, creating an enhanced viewing experience.
Today’s event, while not open to the public at Fort Hood, can be enjoyed anywhere across the globe, thanks to the technological innovation of the IP Age. Furthermore, while the event can be seen by friends and family members, military personnel stationed elsewhere can also witness the recognition offered them.
“Our troops sacrifice so much for their country and we are in full support of them,” said Joel Smernoff (

Today’s IP communications technology brings enhanced communications capabilities to daily business activities, but it is equally important, in this case, in helping maintain high morale for troops still stationed overseas. Log on to
