Aplana Develops Interactive Web Site for Russian IPTV Channel

Aplana Software announced today that it’s developed a new interactive Web site for Russian TV Channel ‘Sport’ to broadcast sport events for Internet users.

 

This site has been developed by using Microsoft (News - Alert) Silverlight, Aplana officials say. This recently developed technology helps in delivering next generation media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web, Aplana officials say, providing user-friendly access to the list of programs with high quality video and audio transmissions, Aplana officials say.

 

By leveraging the new site features, users can watch video recordings on the video archive page, and in two full screen display modes, Aplana officials say: full screen display of the list of transmissions, and full screen display of video.

 

The enhanced user interface made watching sports events more engaging and comfortable, which resulted in an easier-to-use service, Aplana officials say.

 

Anatoly Gaidai, technical director of Aplana Software said that Microsoft Silverlight is a “great” technology for development of rich interactive applications for the Web. He indicated that the video catalog demonstrates the advantages of this technology, especially as viewers can watch an interesting moment as many times as they wish.

 

Microsoft Silverlight also provides an opportunity to watch and make comments, examine statistics and many other services, which is one of the top factors of Internet-TV development.

 

Oleg Dyagterev, Sportbox’s technical manager, said that based on the ever-increasing demands of their users, his company chose Microsoft Silverlight as a technological basis for a new generation of Internet broadcasting.

 

Sportbox is an all-Russia TV channel owned by VGTRK Media Corporation – the Russian TV and radio broadcasting company. The channel has an audience of more than 62 million people.
