Espial Inks Software License and Distribution Agreement with Motorola

By Jai C.S., TMCnet Contributing Editor

Espial (News - Alert), a provider of TV middleware and applications, has signed a software license and distribution agreement with Motorola (News - Alert).

The agreement allows Motorola to resell Espial's Evo TV Service Platform to operators globally.

Espial's Evo IPTV Service Platform includes the carrier-grade Evo Server, Evo Client middleware, the open Evo Future-Proof Framework, and various applications including and applications such as Electronic Program Guide, Video on Demand, Digital Video Recorder, Content Portal, Games, and Triple Play. The platform is designed as a scalable and faster alternative to other available monolithic solutions.

Jaison Dolvane, Espial's president and chief executive officer, mentioned this reseller agreement as another important milestone in Espial's channel development strategy.

Highlighting the strengths of Motorola, Dolvane said, “They are well positioned to capitalize on the increasing demand for IPTV (News - Alert) and hybrid IP-Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) systems.”

"This business relationship expands our global channel presence and fulfillment capacity. It further strengthens the foundation we are building to scale our business to intercept emerging opportunities in the Service Provider TV market,” added Dolvane.

Espial Evo TV Service Platform can be purchased as modular components or as part of a pre-integrated client-server solution.

The company is pleased to have built-in support for the Motorola VIP series set top boxes as reference platforms for the Evo TV Service Platform, according to Dolvane.

Espial’s key business priorities for this year are to educate, train and support the Motorola team on their technologies all across the world. Dolvane explained that the deal will create better opportunities to win customers in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
