UUSee.com announced today that it’s going to partner with CCTV.com to create a major digital media milestone in the history of the Olympics.
The company says it’s been permitted to broadcast the opening ceremony, closing ceremony and all the important sporting action of the 2008 Olympic Games, live, with the only authorized Olympic TV channel in Greater China, CCTV.com.
With this, UUSee.com becomes the first online peer to peer TV operator to get China’s State Administration of Radio, Film and Television video license and Olympic broadcasting rights. Some of the world’s largest real-time interactive TV events are going to be arranged by UUSee, according to the company.
Zhu Li, chief executive officer of UUSee, said, “Broadcasting the 2008 Olympic Games is expected to give a huge boost to UUSee and Internet TV in China. Through our robust network platform, UUSee’s nearly 100 million users will enjoy a reliable, smooth and clear online video experience.”
UUSee says it has the first product to feature an “add a video” search function to Internet TV. It allows a user to find and record favorite video content quickly from different video sites online, and enjoy customized lag-free streaming video, company officials say.
Dan Nova, a general partner at Highland Capital Partners (
