Verimatrix (News - Alert), a provider of content security technologies for improving pay-TV networks, has announced that its security solution was noted as being the most widely deployed with maximum subscribers worldwide by Multimedia Research Group (MRG) for in their bi-annual IPTV

content security study.
Verimatrix ranked first in the European region in the IPTV (News - Alert) vendor market and held the position four times since 2003 when the report was first published.
“Verimatrix has increased its lead in deployed IPTV licenses in the latest Market Leaders Report. In addition to continuing its streak of number one wins globally, the company finished on top in the European market for the first time, and was the only company that finished in the top five in every other region,” said Len Feldman, director of IPTV Analysis for Multimedia Research Group.
The study by MRG takes into account 120 IPTV hardware and software vendors in 24 regional sub-sectors encompassing six product areas. Among the top 25 Operators worldwide according to MRG, Verimatrix’s solutions were deployed by 11 of them.
“MRG’s report reflects our sustained success in IPTV where we are winning deployments in new regions, like South America, and experiencing substantial growth from existing customers that see us as a long-term partner,” said Tom Munro, CEO of Verimatrix.
He noted that as the pay-TV market continues to recognize the benefits of an IP-based network, Verimatrix’s 3-Dimensional Content Security solutions will be well-positioned to meet the needs of the market.
The Verimatrix Video Content Authority System will be most suitable for telecommunications carriers, content aggregators and resellers who provide content security on their networks. This could be for live broadcast and Video-on-Demand IPTV services.
The company further clarified that the software-based content security solution removes problems concerning smartcard-based architectures by using two-way Internet security protocols, a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) system and X.509 digital certificates.
