There will also be a second demonstration where the company will showcase its capacity to integrate IPTV video and "over the top" or Internet-direct video to a STB. Globecomm will achieve this with the help of advanced middleware

and conditional access systems. To facilitate the anticipated features in the next generation of STBs, the company has modified an off-the-shelf STB, which will be demonstrated in the show. Ensuring the quick and inexpensive adaption to continued advances in the field, the Globecomm solution is based on open standards.
Globecomm has also developed an architecture to convert video into a wide variety of formats. This can be achieved at many different bit rates and formats for live or file-based applications. The architecture will be introduced at the 2008 NAB show, presented as an essential approach to "future-proofing" new facilities and creating new revenue opportunities for legacy content.
