Velocix, a digital asset delivery network, announced support of Adobe Flash Media Server 3 through the Flash Video Streaming

Service program. Now deployed throughout the Velocix network, Adobe Flash Media Server 3 provides support for H.264 and VP6-S high definition live and on-demand streaming to audiences around the globe.
Velocix said they will support the real-time encryption protocol, RTMPe and SWF verification, which helps protect high-value media assets.
Phill Robinson, chief executive officer at Velocix, said in a statement that the company strives to provide content owners and broadcasters with the most comprehensive set of delivery services for large digital assets, such as video. He indicated that the new advanced capabilities of Adobe Flash Media Server 3 are a natural complement to Digital Asset Delivery Network.
Velocix continues to see increasing demand from their customers for high-quality live and on-demand streaming to Flash. The company is thus excited to extend its partnership with Adobe to offer their customers high definition video streaming services and the next generation experience they crave.
Bill Rusitzky, director of strategic alliances at Adobe, noted that the Velocix Digital Asset Delivery Network provides a reliable and highly scalable solution for delivering live and on-demand Adobe Flash streaming solutions to worldwide audiences. He added that the company is pleased that Velocix will be offering video streaming from Flash Media Server 3 so quickly and looks forward to working together to extend new features and benefits.
The Velocix Network enables content owners, studios, and broadcasters to deliver video and other large digital assets with unprecedented performance, breakthrough economics and an asset delivery lifecycle management system. This provides content owners the control, analytics and reporting they need to manage their asset libraries through the digital distribution chain.
Velocix was in news earlier this month when it partnered with MediaMelon, an HD video delivery network, to deliver HD videos on behalf of content owners. According to Kumar Subramanian, CEO at MediaMelon, the combination of the global Velocix network and MediaMelon’s forward caching technology provides consistent delivery performance anywhere in the world while also minimizing delivery costs.
