Accordent Technologies (News - Alert), today announced its selection by VeriSign, an American company that operates a diverse array of network infrastructure, to provide a global multimedia communications system that will enable the automated creation and delivery via VeriSign's (News - Alert) Kontiki Delivery Management System (DMS) of on-demand multimedia webcasts for corporate communications and training applications. Accordent’s portfolio of easy-to-use software is used by the world’s largest organizations to create, edit and publish professional, branded rich media communications. These products fit into every budget and event setting, ranging from backpack-sized webcasting devices and room-based capture stations to centrally managed rack-mounted configurations and commercial grade, distributed network webcasting solutions.
This new system will enable VeriSign executives and employees to webcast rich media presentations - which include streaming video synchronized with images captured from laptops, document cameras and/or e-whiteboards - to the company's global employee base, leveraging the VeriSign Kontiki Delivery Management System, which enables the delivery of high quality video over their corporate network in a reliable, secure, scalable manner utilizing patented peer-assisted technology.
“Accordent enables us to deploy enterprise-wide webcasting solutions to routinely convert meetings and training sessions into Web-accessible, archived online assets that are then shared with global audiences using our extremely bandwidth-efficient content delivery network,” said Todd Johnson (News - Alert), senior vice president of global marketing for VeriSign.
The Accordent system can deliver live and on-demand webcasts from VeriSign's corporate headquarters in Mountain View, California, using Accordent PresenterPRO(TM), Accordent's highly scalable distributed live webcasting product. VeriSign has already equipped five presentation and training rooms in California and Dulles, Virginia, with the Accordent Capture Station(TM), the company's automated rich media capture and publishing appliance.
“Online video adoption in the enterprise is following the same exponential adoption trends we've seen with online consumer video,” said Mike Newman, CEO of Accordent Technologies. “Web-based, multimedia communications have rapidly become the new organizational platform for creating, delivering, archiving and tracking communications and training initiatives.”
As the company’s clients become more sophisticated, Accordent Technologies’ multimedia communications programs are developed to include public-facing applications such as marketing, recruiting and training manufacturers' representatives, according to Newman. "The new capabilities we're unveiling respond to this demand, enabling our clients not only to create content for new media players, applications and devices, but to also measure and understand how audiences inside and outside of their organizations are receiving their messages."
VeriSign's Kontiki Delivery Management System (DMS) provides a suite of software which VeriSign uses to publish, protect, deliver, and measure high quality video created using Accordent's solution for a variety of enterprise applications including CEO all-staff meetings, corporate communications, training, and customer support. The Kontiki DMS allows users anytime, anywhere access to high quality video, rich media, and any large digital files to all employees with minimal impact to corporate networking infrastructure.
