Ambit Microsystems, a developer of wired and wireless broadband communications, has selected the Alticast tru2way platform middleware
solution, AltiCaptor, for their digital cable set-top boxes.
AltiCaptor is currently deployed in digital cable, satellite and broadcast receivers around the world and is proven in over 5 million devices in consumer's homes.

Ambit is working with Alticast to initially bring two cable receivers to market. The first model will be a single-tuner, standard-definition device that will support the latest OpenCable specifications. And as the demand for HD-DVR services grows, Ambit will also said it will deliver a high-performance, dual-tuner, HD-DVR cable receiver later in the year.

Alticast offers software solutions and services for the delivery, reception and playback of interactive television content based on DVB-MHP, the tru2way platform and Blu-ray Disc.
