NDS Opens Sales and Support Office in New Delhi for the Pay TV Market

NDS (News - Alert), a provider of technology solutions for digital Pay TV, has announced the opening of a new, sales and support office in New Delhi.

 
With the opening of the new center, NDS looks forward to increasing its service offerings to the Indian market and will be providing the Indian Pay TV industry optimum service and support as a technology provider.

Sue Taylor, VP and General Manager of NDS Asia Pacific said, “NDS is very optimistic about the growth of the Indian Pay TV market and we are honored to be the partner of choice for leading broadcasters, platform operators, and service providers delivering the latest services and content to subscribers.,”
 
“We are privileged to be able to partner with the leading operators in both the satellite and cable space. The opening of our sales and support office in New Delhi allows us to enhance our reach and local support capabilities and to better serve our existing and future customers,” said Taylor.

India is seen as a dynamic market for digital Pay TV with a growing digital subscriber market. Media Partners Asia forecasts that India’s digital Pay TV market will lead the Asia- Pacific region in revenue generation by 2015.
 
Factors connected with market development in India include government regulation, high GDP growth, increasing demand for quality content and delivery, and new market entrants offering both satellite and cable services. Growth is further enhanced by the increase in competition and consumer choice in Pay TV, the popularity has induced operators to provide better content, innovative applications, differentiated services and improved delivery.
 
The Pay TV market includes companies like Tata Sky, Hathway Cable and Datacom. Besides these companies new comers in the market include Bharti and Digital Entertainment Network (DEN). NDS systems will be providing them with systems for enabling the Pay TV services and offering protection.
