Chinese tele-media service provider VODone Limited has partnered with AirMedia Group to make a foray into the advertising market.
The partnership agreement was signed between Ms Wang Chun, Executive Director of VODone; and Mr James Zhonghua Feng, Chief Operating Officer of AirMedia on 21 May 2008 in Beijing.
With its proven track record in the internet, telecommunication and media businesses, VODone, the biggest online video advertising media in China, listed on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong in July 2006. Vodone Telemedia Co. Ltd., a strategic partner of VODone, claims it is the only company in China to own a complete set of licenses to operate video broadcasting on the Internet.
An equally successful partner, AirMedia specializes in the operation of digital TV screens in airports and on aircrafts. The company enjoys the rights to operate digital TV screens in 52 major airports in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Among its other clientele are Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines, the three biggest airlines in China. AirMedia has the distinction of being the first Chinese air travel digital media network operator listed on NASDAQ.
The two media giants have joined forces to strengthen their presence in the advertising industry and emerge as a powerful alliance. VODone plans to further extend its network of partners by collaborating with other leading players in the market.
