Harmonic’s (

Dalet Digital Media Systems’ file-based solutions offer end-to-end digital workflows--from ingest to production, editing, scheduling, transmission, archiving and content distribution. The new integrated solution has been deployed at The Press Association, the national news agency for the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Dalet/Rhozet solution will help the agency to efficiently produce and manage video packages that are distributed to affiliates via The Press Association’s Web portal.
Video journalists working for The Press Association have to edit video using their laptops while they are in the field. The journalists then edit video using their laptops and upload finished packages to headquarters using a customized store-and-forward video hub application developed using Rhozet video transcoding technology. Because the time consuming task of transcoding and publishing functions are handled behind-the-scenes, journalists can give more time to content instead of wasting time on repetitive tasks.
Kevin Savina, director of Product Management at Dalet Digital Media Systems said that they are impressed with the Rhozet transcoding capabilities and the ease in which they have been able to integrate these capabilities with the Dalet core engine to meet the requirements of customers.
