The IPTV capabilities of Modular Video processor (MVP) designed by RGB Networks have won appreciation by getting an NXTcomm (News - Alert) Eos Award. The processor enables telecommunications carriers to deliver high-quality, IP-based video services.

 

As a winner for the Content Delivery and Management category, RGB Networks noted that their product ran against several other contenders, and was selected by a panel of 15 consultants, technical journalists and service providers from the communications industry.

 

RGB Networks is a builder of video-intelligent processors, video and bandwidth management products that harness the power of standards-based data networking technology to deliver revenue-generating services and nice television viewing experience.

 

“Winning a NXTcomm Eos Award confirms that the industry recognizes the value that the MVP brings to telco IPTV (News - Alert) deployments,” said Ramin Farassat, vice president of product marketing, RGB Networks.

 

“We consulted closely with several large telecom carriers in developing the MVP to ensure it meets their critical requirements, and this award is a testament that we’ve designed the MVP with everything telcos need to deliver advanced IPTV services,” added Farassat.

 

Telcos can provide a complete range of digital video services including HDTV with the help of MVP. RGB also adds that MVP has a high density multi slot chassis that can provide for MPEG-4/H.264 and MPEG-2 advanced processing that can offer per-subscriber-based translating for maximum service reach.

 

The MVP can enhance quality of experience (QoE) with its multi level redundancy and its modular, chassis-based architecture allows for addition of new capabilities to support advanced applications.

 

RGB will demonstrate the MVP in its booth at the upcoming NXTcomm tradeshow, June 16-19, 2008, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

 

Started in 2007, the NXTcomm Eos Awards honor exhibiting companies that have developed the most promising new technologies or provided the best new network services, strategic support and ongoing achievement. RGB Networks will be recognized at the NXTcomm Exception Reception during this year s NXTcomm 2008 on June 17.
