The number of Web users who watch videos online has grown at a rapid pace. A recent survey shows that in the past 12 months, 58 percent of online consumers watched at least one video online. Multimedia content is becoming a vital part of Web sites, and video content providers can now register their Web site with a .TV domain name.
"A dotTV differentiates your Web site from other domain name extensions because it quickly tells visitors your site contains visual content", said Go Daddy CEO and Founder, Bob Parsons (

Parsons explained that he uses a .TV address for his popular CEO video blog, www.BobParsons.tv.
"Today's Internet audiences expect to see cutting edge content on a dotTV Web site. Go Daddy makes it easy and affordable to get your dotTV site online,” Parsons stated.
Go Daddy is a provider of services that enable individuals and businesses to establish, maintain and evolve an online presence. It also provides a variety of domain name registration plans, Web site design and hosting packages, as well as a broad array of on-demand services such as SSL Certificates, Domains by Proxy private registration, ecommerce Web site hosting, blog templates and blog software, podcast packages and online photo hosting.
The dotTV domain can also be used by numerous users who have the need to post their videos online. Users can include large corporations, video bloggers, amateur movie makers, fledgling businesses or anyone who wants to show videos of their kids to family and friends.
During the start of this millennium, video specific domain names were not really popular, but right now they are being built up for a Web explosion. The Web industry's latest topsy-turvy move revolves around .TV, a beaten down idea that's about to get a shot at rebirth, says a Fortune report.
Richard Rosenblatt, the CEO of Demand explained, “It's analogous to the way people used Geocities before individual domain names became popular. In other words, back in the day, folks would create pages at Geocities, a site Yahoo bought for gobs of money and has become largely irrelevant. Geocities was cool, though, before people and companies realized they could have their own sites.”
GoDaddy.com provides various tools including its WebSite Tonight and Quick BlogCast site builders, which let users create attractive, engaging, media-rich Web sites easily. A .TV top level domain (TLD) helps such sites reach their full potential by showcasing Web video and other Web 2.0 content in its natural environment.
Several top Internet entities have already discovered how .TV domains helped promote their content to Web audiences. The list of prominent sites includes Reason.tv, FastCompany.tv, ComcastSportsnet.tv and Blip.tv. Similarly, GoDaddy.tv is home to Go Daddy's famed TV commercials, as well as photo galleries, biographies and blogs related to celebrity Go Daddy spokespeople like Danica Patrick, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Amanda Beard.
