Alert) has announced the availability of two new products - the P-660HNU series 802.11n ADSL2/2+ wireless gateway and the STB-1001 IPTV

set-top box.

set-top box is designed to be the most cost-effective IPTV solution for Telcos and Multi-Service Operators (MSOs).
Noting that IPTV technology has been a popular choice of Telco’s in the fast-growing broadband and pay-TV industries, Munira Brooks, vice president of sales and marketing for ZyXEL, said the technology is an ideal Video-on-Demand solution for MSO markets.
According to Brooks, with an estimated 25 million IPTV subscribers worldwide by the year 2010, ZyXEL is positioned to meet the needs of this growing market. She said to attract new customers and retain existing customers, service providers must offer value-added services and all-in-one solutions for IPTV and a variety of multimedia services.
“ZyXEL is committed to providing these products as the IPTV market grows,” she added.
Boasting speeds up to 12 Mbps (ADSL2) or 24 Mbps (ADSL2/2+), ZyXEL’s P-660HNU Series offers higher data transfer rates and better bandwidth than traditional ADSL gateways. The new gateway includes 802.11n draft 2.0 compatibility (pre-standard of IEEE

802.11n) and MIMO technology, which brings high throughput and wide coverage wireless connection to the home and small office. The device also includes a 4-port switch, a robust firewall

, and a unique USB 2.0 host for FAT16 and FAT32 file sharing and print server capabilities, which allows multiple PCs in a home to share one printer.
ZyXEL’s STB-1001 has multiple video streaming support that enables Telcos to create more revenue per subscriber, while saving in capital and operational expenditures. The company claims that service providers offering end-to-end IPTV solutions supported by ZyXEL's IP set-top product line can maximize their profits by providing cost-effective IPTV solutions. ZyXEL's solutions can also be tailored according to the client’s needs.
