IPC Media said that it has selected mobile platform specialist Saffron Digital as its video ad-serving partner for the Nuts off-portal mobile site.
This selection is seen as a first stage in a plan to provide video ad serving functionality across IPC’s network of mobile sites. Initially, Saffron Connect—the ad-management and serving platform of Saffron Digital—will be deployed on the Nuts site, which is already hosted and managed by Saffron.
Later in the coming months, Saffron is expected to work with IPC to develop opportunities across a range of video rich IPC titles.
IPC Media’s officials said that a selection of premium video content will be complemented by a “targeted suite of free, ad-funded video content to drive volume and inventory.
Saffron Connect’s video ad serving technology, officials said, delivers a “compelling video experience” with ads selected and stitched to video content, across streaming and download formats.
“As we continue to drive impressions and users to our mobile properties, we need to be in a position to offer advertising partners new ways to engage with our audience,” said Miles Ross, head of mobile development at IPC Media.
He also said that having partnered with Saffron for some time, they have clearly demonstrated that their technical expertise in video hosting and delivery is market leading, adding that video ad serving is a natural extension of this partnership, and Nuts is a great brand to begin with.
Shashi Fernando, CEO at Saffron Digital, said that IPC Media is an important partner for Saffron, with extremely strong properties and compelling content. He added: “We're delighted that Saffron Connect, our ad serving solution, has been selected to help further develop IPC's commercial proposition.”
