WBS Connect Launches Virtual In Person High Definition Video Conferencing

By Shireen Dee, TMCnet Contributing Editor

WBS Connect (News - Alert) recently revealed its latest product, Virtual In Person, a high-definition video conferencing service. Virtual In Person also doubles as a telepresence service, and uses the company’s global IP network as a base.

WBS Connect is providing its customers with an innovative solution in teleservices; a service the company calls a ‘global gateway’. The fundamental concept of this global gateway is to be able to allow customers to interface with each other via the integration of many video networks. The target user is the business entity with branches scattered across various geographic locations.

These companies will be able to conduct interactions pertinent to business functions, like video conferencing meetings, regardless of the accessibility of the networks. This means that the participants can be using their own private networks, but this will not impact the feasibility of the telepresence service.

In addition to these services, WBS Connect is also aiming to erase compatibility issues for their clientele. Compatibility issues arise when products from different vendors are used in different configurations. This particular can be addressed with its new full-service high-definition communication packages.

“I see telepresence as the must-have, killer application for the 21st century,” said Scott Charter, managing partner of WBS Connect. “With our IP network backbone, worldwide Internet operations and our networking expertise, we feel we're uniquely qualified to help our customers realize the full potential of telepresence and video conferencing, including enhanced productivity and stronger relationships that can only come from a free exchange of ideas and frequent face-to-face interactions.”

Enterprise customers will largely benefit from these new services, as these customers have complex Information Technology (IT) infrastructures, and require easy seamless multi-location conference. The packages that WBS Connect has put together include features like, IP transit, transport, Content Delivery Network (CDN) services, data center colocation services, and expert network consulting services.

WBS Connect is focusing its energy on telepresence, and is working toward improving the implementation for customers. The company offers a complete solution; equipment, installation, network services consultation and support. In addition to this, there are also other features like Web-based scheduling options and user-centric Video Network Operations Center (VNOC) services.
