Scantec, a European semiconductor products sales and distribution representative, and Focus Enhancements, Inc. announced today that they’ve entered into an agreement to have Scantec distribute and act as sales representative for Focus’ semiconductor products.
“Working with Focus Enhancements, a top tier provider of UWB

solutions grows our semiconductor base of clients and enables us to continue providing the best offering of technologies for our customers,” said Elke Wittmann, managing director at Scantec.
Scantec officials say their company has served for decades as a successful hub for technology associated with know-how, providing customers with a competitive advantage, minimizing time to market by integrating innovations of start up semiconductor companies with the market power of established key players.
With a strong local European presence, full distribution channel and experienced technical sales and support teams, Scantec has developed long-term relationships with the tier-one and tier-two customers across Europe, company officials say.
“We are pleased to be working with Scantec’s experienced sales team to expand our video convergence business in IPTV

media systems and consumer applications, and our new UWB technology in computer, consumer, and industrial applications,” said David Drummond, director strategic sales of Focus Enhancements, Inc. “Scantec’s strong presence in Germany, Czech Republic, and Poland is key to supporting the growing number of high volume manufacturing opportunities in Eastern Europe.”
Focus, headquartered in Campbell, California, designs world-class solutions in advanced, proprietary video and wireless video technologies.
The company’s Semiconductor Group develops wireless IC chip set based on WiMedia UWB standard and design as well as markets portable ICs to the video convergence, portable media, navigation systems and smartphone markets, company officials say.
The company’s System Group develops video products for the digital media markets, with customers in the broadcast, video production, digital signage and digital asset management markets, according to officials.
