IP connectivity in today’s households continues to grow as new devices and technologies are offered to keep users connected, and online.
IPTV (News - Alert), which pushes content from the Web to the TV, is one element in the IP connected home that’s seen an increase.
In fact, by 2014 In-Stat (News - Alert) predicts there will be 57 million U.S. broadband households watching full-length online video on their TVs.
The research firm also found that video content is expected to grow from $2 billion to more than $17 billion in that same time frame.
This, in addition to the growing adoption of Android (News - Alert) devices today, and the success of the Android platform, has created new opportunities for IPTV manufacturers.
For more on how Android can be leveraged to develop delivery platforms and device agnostic IPTV solutions, Aricent (News - Alert) is sponsoring a free TMC Webinar on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 11AM ET.
