Delivery Agent, a major player in multi-channel commerce for sports and entertainment and which handles all of Discovery Communications direct-to-consumer commerce operations, extended partnership with Discovery Communications to include interactive television beginning with the AT&T (News
- Alert) U-verse Santa Tracker.
Officials with Delivery Agent said that Discovery Communications’ initial foray into interactive television includes its sponsorship of the AT&T U-verse Santa Tracker app, which is currently available on Channel 98.
With Santa Tracker, U-verse TV customers can play games, vote in the “Naughty or Nice” poll, listen to sing-a-long holiday songs, and on Christmas Eve, they can track Santa’s travels around the globe.
Company officials said that AT&T and Delivery Agent developed and produced for Discovery the full-featured interactive marketing program on Santa Tracker, which enables children and parents to use their remote control to play on-screen holiday games and view videos of prizes that include products from the vast selection of toys available at DiscoveryStore.com .
“Discovery Channel’s online store already serves millions of people every year. The move into interactive television is the next and newest step for expanding its reach to an even larger audience, and we couldn’t imagine a more appropriate way to begin this effort and showcase Discovery’s award-winning toys than in the company of Santa himself,” said Mike Fitzsimmons, CEO with Delivery Agent, in a statement.
