Playout and distribution services for the localized MTV Israel channel will be provided by RRsat Global Communications Network Ltd. in collaboration with Ananey Communications. Nearly 2 million Israelis will therefore have access to MTV Israel. An announcement in this regard has been made by a top provider of comprehensive content management and global distribution services, RRsat. These services are provided to the television and radio broadcasting industries.
Localized Comedy Central and Nickelodeon services in Israel are already provided playout and distribution services by RRsat. Comedy Central and Nickelodeon services in Israel are operated by Ananey Communications under license on behalf of MTV Networks (News - Alert) International.
Along with the playout of MTV Israel, RRsat will be also responsible for uplink to the YES direct-to-home satellite TV platform. This platform has 1.5 million viewers. The fiber delivery to the Israeli cable provider HOT will also be the responsibility of RRsat. HOT has a viewership of 900,000 Israelis. International music and entertainment series will be provided by the new channel to its target youth audience.
Archiving and backup, audio and video editing, and re-encoding will be included in the playback services being provided by RRsat. Dubbing, subtitle insertion, graphic overlay and QC will be also included in the playback services from RRsat.
In a release, Lior Rival, VP of sales and marketing at RRsat said, "We are thrilled to be involved with granting Israelis access to the MTV's exciting content. MTV Israel joins the more than 130 TV channels being played out from RRsat Playout Center's state-of-the-art automated, high capacity, 24/7 facility including Fashion TV, KidsCo, BollywoodHD, BABY TV, BABY First TV, and more."
