Celeno Video-Grade Wi-Fi Technology to Power Inteno's Wi-Fi Video Bridge

Celeno Communications announced that its CL1820 true video-grade Wi-Fi technology has been selected by Inteno for powering its ZAP100 Wi-Fi video bridge.

Inteno supplies CPE equipment to service providers in the Nordic market. Now service providers will be able to provide wireless distribution of HD IPTV (News - Alert) video services to subscribers’ homes with wire-like quality, said Celeno sources.

In a release, Gilad Rozen, CEO and president of Celeno, a provider of semiconductors for multimedia Wi-Fi home networking applications, said, “Service providers face significant challenges in delivering IPTV streams from the customer’s broadband connection to a multitude of display devices throughout the home.”

“By partnering with leading suppliers such as Inteno, Celeno offers a robust and consistent Wi-Fi home network that is not only a cost-effective solution to service providers, but also benefits end users with the flexibility to self install and place TVs and set-top boxes anywhere they like,” Rozen added.

Celeno officials explained that the company’s Wi-Fi is powered by its OptimizAIR technology suite that is capable of meeting all the demands of carrier-grade video streaming. The technology features high throughput, long range, bounded jitter, low packet drops, interference resiliency and remote management.

These features are in great demand among service providers who will also benefit from OptimizAIR mesh networking solution. This solution enables service providers to offer high bandwidth services like Multi-Room DVR as it supports complete self-discovery and automatic set up.

According to Franzen the ZAP100 offers service providers an innovative video-over Wi-Fi solution, using which they can deliver services that will enhance customer satisfaction. Also the Celeno CL1820 platform supports TR-069 remote management and monitoring which further improves the end-user experience, Franzen noted.

Celeno Communications (News - Alert) also announced that ‘yes’, Israel’s leading satellite provider picked a Celeno Wi-Fi chipset to participate in a home network trial which will enable its customers to use wireless streaming of SD/HD Video on Demand (VoD) services in the home.
