Stingray Digital, a Montreal-based provider of music services to multi-channel operators recently announced a partnership with Insight Communications. Under the partnership, this interactive music distribution company will be offering its Galaxie Digital Music Service to the customers of Insight Digital Cable.
The Galaxie continuous music network comprises 50 music channels, all commercial-free and uninterrupted. The channels deliver diverse genres of music that include rock, pop, jazz, classical and international, delivered in digital audio format.
The USP of the service lies in the fact that unlike other music channels, it brings the human touch as each channel is professionally programmed by a person, who has knowledge of music, rather than by a computer algorithm. The service also includes on-screen presentation with thematic images and song information, all of which make the service even more attractive.
According to Galaxie, its services reach close to 10 million households via digital cable, satellite TV or IPTV (News - Alert) operators. Currently, 50 TV operators from coast to coast offer the service to their customers. Eric Boyko, president and CEO of Stingray Digital said in a statement that his company is happy that Insight Communications’ Digital Cable customers will now be able to enjoy the Galaxie continuous music service.
“We are certain that our customers are going to enjoy the variety of channels available from Galaxie. The on-screen look of the different channels and the high quality of the programming really make for a compelling music offering that will be well appreciated by our customers,” Melani Griffith, at Insight Communications said in a statement.
In addition to the 50 channel Galaxie service on TV, other Stingray Digital music services available to Insight customers include the two popular VOD services Concert TV and The KARAOKE Channel.
Earlier this year, TMCnet reported that Insight Communications, country’s 9th ranking, largest cable MSO selected ARRIS’s ServAssure Advanced Performance Management Software to improve their subscribers' experience with DOCSIS based network services.
