TiVUS Nears Completion of TiVUS HD IPTV Installation at Host Hotels and Resorts

TiVUS, an entertainment services company offering Internet-based TV and cable programming and interactive game content to the hotel/hospitality industry, announced that it is nearing completion of the installation of TiVUS HD IPTV (News - Alert) at Host Hotels and Resorts in Philadelphia.

Host Hotels and Resorts in Philadelphia has TiVUS Live deployed in 1200 rooms of the 1408 rooms.

“I am pleased to report we remain on schedule for completion of the Philadelphia installation in late August,” said Shiva Prakash, president and chief executive officer, TiVUS, in a statement. “The system itself can safely be called a 'hit' with both staff and guests at the hotel property. I look forward to soon announcing completion of Philadelphia, as well as commencement of our Omaha installation, and others.”

Host Hotels and Resorts is running TiVUS Live in hundreds of rooms since early this year. There is a significant above-average satisfaction among guests as compared to the same period last year, as per customer satisfaction data measured by number of guest issues and complaints with TV equipment.

The company has noted that the technical issues for the same period are below average with 86 percent resolved as user error.

The company had announced the agreement with Host Hotels to deploy its new HD IPTV systems in Host properties in March 2011. Host Hotels & Resorts is the largest lodging real estate investment trust (REIT) and one of the largest owners of luxury and upper-upscale hotels.

Recently, Tivus entered into a joint venture with Falcon IP/Complete, a one-stop video solutions company. The partnership with Falcon IP/Complete will help integrate and install Tivus' HD IPTV to North America's hotel properties. By introducing the digital technology platform and IP infrastructure, guests will have lots of viewing options and can watch special events.
