Telcordia Enhances SDP Solution to Help CSPs Converge Telecom, IT and Cloud Services

By Narayan Bhat, TMCnet Contributor

Telecommunications solutions vendor Telcordia (News - Alert) has claimed to have enhanced its flagship SDP (service data platform) solution in a bid to bolster the ability of service providers planning to offer new generation of voice, data and content services on multiple networks and devices.

The SDP solution is all about converging telecom, IT and cloud services on a single platform and offer on multiple networks.

For example, service providers can expect to support an interactive IPTV (News - Alert) service personalized with public cloud-based social media content on TVs, PCs, tablets and smartphones.

With this solution, Telcordia says, service providers can develop and deploy converged service in a matter of days, rather than months.

"SDP helps CSPs build interactive relationships with their customers in a world of cloud-based, converged services and smart, often mobile devices," said Mike Wojcik, President, Service Delivery Solutions, Telcordia.

Analysts say SDP solution dramatically reduces capital and operational expenses compared to standalone solutions while enabling innovation across a CSP's (News - Alert) entire service plane.

The Telcordia Converged Revenue Management solution helps CSPs manage multiple functions such as order management, customer care, service delivery, and billing through one unified solution, allowing them to cut costs and quickly deliver innovative service offerings.

According to Analysys Mason, Telcordia is the sixth largest in SDP product revenue.
