Exterity Unveils Newer Version of Its AvediaPlayer Receiver

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

Exterity, the building IPTV (News - Alert) specialist, announced that its newly released updated version of its AvediaPlayer receiver is capable of offering an enhanced browser and functionality for organizations that are looking for means to deliver live or on-demand access to TV, video and AV content over an IP Network.

According to the company, its AvediaPlayer receivers make TV and video channels available to analogue and digital TVs and AV display devices from a standard IP network (LAN). This eliminates the need for an expensive additional video cabling system, and picture quality is maintained, no matter how many users are added. It can be deployed for both fixed and portable display equipment and extra protection for device and cabling can be realized with the help of the optional high-security mount.

The latest version of the AvediaPlayer receiver opens a wide range of deployment opportunities for enhancing enterprise communications by allowing any type of content to become a channel. It is also packed with FTP functionality using which files can uploaded quickly and efficiently to a specific receiver or to a group of receivers across a site. The receivers support both SD and full HD format videos.

Some of the features of the solution are: delivers high-quality TV and video anywhere on the LAN for increased flexibility and scalability; supports both Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) up to 1080p; Receiver Development Kit (RDK) allows integration with third-party middleware; central configuration and control via SNMP, web management interface or AvediaServer Director; power over Ethernet (PoE) simplifies installation, saves cabling and power point costs; and more.

Officials with the company remarked that the new upgrade provides their customers with the widest range of engaging ways to distribute AV content, helping organizations embrace video communications as part of their enterprise information systems. As well as innovative functionality, the new receiver also offers enterprise reliability – ensuring money can be invested in providing great content rather than maintaining an inflexible specialist coaxial infrastructure.

In other news, Exterity recently announced the launch of its Continued Professional Development (CPD) certified training program for Information Technology (IT), Audio Visual (AV), Building Services and Mechanical & Electrical Consultants. The move follows the company's accreditation to full CPD membership; a positive step forward for the IPTV industry and a great opportunity for consultants to receive expert training about the power of AV over IP distribution.
