TransGaming Inc., an expert in interactive entertainment multiplatform deployment, has announced that more than 250,000 users have already downloaded its GameTree TV, an on-demand interactive entertainment platform for Smart TV, within the first six months of its commercial launch. The company in its announcement also said that it is expecting the GameTree TV download to cross the 1 million mark within one year.
Users are provided with new games and content on a weekly basis, which has helped in furthering the growth of GameTree TV. At present, more than 50 games are provided over the GameTree TV portfolio. GameTree is, however, planning on expanding its game portfolio to include more than 60 titles by the end of 2011. In addition to a number of new features and platform enhancements, GameTree is planning on introducing a new multiservice operator (MSO) soon.
In a release, Vikas Gupta, CEO and President of TransGaming, said, "Since we launched GameTree TV a mere six months ago, consumer adoption has been outstanding, with 1,000 new users per day. Given how rapidly we are adding new titles and new features, we expect to reach an inflection point soon and surpass this growth rate over the next six months. The addition of new MSOs will further accelerate GameTree TV's growth, and we have many more exciting announcements coming up that will solidify our position as the world's most widely enjoyed game platform for Smart TV. While the rest of the industry talks about the future of Smart TV, we are delivering it now with an immersive entertainment experience for the connected living room."
Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, TransGaming, Inc., enables multiplatform deployment of interactive entertainment for customers across the globe. The company collaborates with developers and publishers over the distribution of games for Smart TV set-top boxes and Mac computers and for Linux/CE platforms.
