- Alert), one of the leading integrated telecommunications companies worldwide, has selected Celeno’s CL1820 Wi-Fi chip and OptimizAIR technology to power its Speedport W 102 Bridge.
Officials with Celeno said that the Speedport W 102 Bridge will enable Deutsche Telekom to distribute its popular “Entertain” IPTV (News
- Alert) service wirelessly throughout the home to consumers in Germany.
With around 140 TV channels, 15,000 titles, 2,500 national and international radio stations, and interactive applications, Entertain is the leader of the German IPTV market.
Thanks to the Speedport W 102 Bridge, German consumers can now enjoy their Entertain IPTV service on multiple set-top boxes (STBs), receiving content wirelessly, and share multi-room digital video recorder (DVR) content wirelessly.
The Speedport W 102 Bridge enables consumers to easily self install their media receiver DVR.
“Celeno’s optimized Wi-Fi technology far exceeds that of conventional Wi-Fi, which is merely designed for internet surfing,” said Ulrich Grote, vice president terminal management fixed line, Deutsche Telekom, in a statement.
Grote said that Celeno’s solution not only allows for flawless HD video streaming, it also enables multi-room DVR with the high quality of experience the consumers demand.”
“Celeno offers easy to install Wi-Fi solutions that can deliver high-quality HD video content for performance-hungry applications from any source to any room in the home,” said Gilad Rozen, CEO, Celeno.

Company officials said that Celeno’s Wi-Fi chipset, powered by the OptimizAIR technology suite, improves standards-based Wi-Fi to deliver robust HD video with whole-home coverage and wire-like video quality.
