Teracue, a provider of encoder, decoder, stream-viewing/recording, as well as DVB-TV gateway and IPTV (News
- Alert) headend products, announced the launch of its ENC-300-PORTABLE H.264 DVI Encoder.
The hardware encoder is meant for MPEG-4 streaming and IPTV encoding of digital signage players.
A compact product for digital signage streaming applications, ENC-300-DVI-PORTABLE encoder can be used for sending live digital signage content in HD over the IP network or the Internet, according to a press statement.
Teracue stated that the H.264 SD/HD video encoder processes DVI with analogue audio and HDMI with embedded audio signals. The new encoder enables customers to achieve ENC-300 streaming of video resolutions up to full HD format. Special DVI formats, such as 1600x1200 or 1920x1200, can also be processed. Selected digital signage content from a casino can be provided as additional television channels in hotel rooms via the IPTV system. Casinos can manage the playback of the HD signage content on cost-effective standard IPTV set-top boxes, such as the Amino 140 series. They can send an individual video data stream to as many end devices as required, by using multicast stream transmission.
Leveraging the ENC-300-DVI-PORTABLE encoders, customers can ensure efficient 24/7 real-time streaming applications and can also be used under difficult environmental conditions. They have an extended temperature range, a power consumption of less than 10W and no moveable parts. They can be operated completely noiseless.
Teracue will be showing IPTV encoder products at ISE 2012 Amsterdam January 31st to February 2nd.
Recently, Teracue announced that their IPTV Encoders/Decoders helped Alcatel-Lucent Germany, a telecom equipment maker, to demonstrate the performance of 4G LTE (News - Alert) network for live mobile sports broadcasting from sailing boats on the World Match Racing Tour.
