In an effort to foster new relationships for 2012, Telenor (News - Alert) Sweden is offering the Inteno ZAP100, which is powered by Celeno's video-grade Wi-Fi technology, to wirelessly stream HD IPTV (News - Alert) to multiple screens within subscriber homes.
Celeno Communications, a provider of high performance Wi-Fi chipsets and software for HD multimedia home networking applications, and Inteno, a supplier of broadband and triple-play equipment to European operators, network owners, system integrators and resellers, explained that for operators who want to provide subscriber customers with video-grade Wi-Fi home networks, Celeno's OptimizAIR is the technology to select. Telenor has become the 75th operator to deploy Celeno technology.
"We are thrilled that Telenor has chosen the Inteno ZAP100 Video Bridge to deliver IPTV services wirelessly in subscribers' homes,” Conny Franzen, CEO of Inteno, said. “Designed for easy self-installation and remote management, the ZAP100 is a robust solution that is truly plug-and-play, delivering HD and SD IPTV video streams from Ethernet-equipped broadband gateways or DVRs to multiple IP set-top boxes."
According to Gilad Rozen, CEO of Celeno, the company’s chip portfolio and embedded technology is a world-class solution for distributing video in the home. This has been established as 75 carriers around the world have already selected Celeno.
Rozen said, "With the explosive growth of IPTV worldwide, we expect our solutions to extend even further."
Wi-Fi based video-grade devices have been delivered by the Inteno and Celeno partnership. These devices have been deployed in multiple service providers across Scandinavia. State-of-the-art Wi-Fi performance with QoS optimized for carrier-grade video service is also provided by the ZAP (News - Alert)-100 video bridge, according to company officials.
