Norbain to Offer Escon Solutions for IP CCTV Market

By Ed Silverstein, TMCnet Contributor

Escon is the latest supplier to be offered by Norbain in its diverse offerings of solutions for IP closed-circuit television (CCTV) customers.

Escon provides digital storage solutions, and Norbain offers custom-built servers for CCTV.

Norbain offers five servers, with other options for storage. Servers come with components, connecting leads, and rack side rails, the company said. The options help customers select the right server for their unique needs.

“Ensuring you have the right server to support a CCTV installation is vitally important and can, ultimately, decide the success of a project,” Buzz Coates, divisional director of branded CCTV at Norbain, said in a company statement. “By choosing the Escon servers that have been custom built especially for Norbain customers, installers can be sure they’re making the right decision.”

In other recent company news, new Pelco video recording solutions will also be available through Norbain, according to a report carried on TMCnet. The new products include DX4700 and DX4800 hybrid video recorders (HVRs), which are designed for customers who want to use megapixel technology. The new HVRs offer 8 or 16 channels and capacity for two IP cameras with up to 3 megapixel each. Both HVRs can record up to 30 images per second on all channels.

Norbain has over 290 employees in the United Kingdom. An international sales division sells to 77 countries. The company has 30 years’ experience in distributing electronics and security products, according to information posted on the company’s website. Norbain SD is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Norbain Group. In addition, Norbain is responsible for Vista, a brand of electronic security equipment. It is also an authorized distributor for brands of CCTV, Access Control and Intruder products, such as American Dynamics, Europlex, Kantech, PAC, Pelco, Siemens (News - Alert), Software House and TDSi.
