- Alert) Holdings Corp recently announced that they had secured two fresh contracts to continue support for IPTV network expansion in association with Fujian Telecom and Zhejiang Telecom, both of which are provincial subsidiaries of China Telecom. UTStarcom has set out to build two IPTV (News
- Alert) 2.0 platforms in the cities of Wenzhou and Taizhou in partial fulfillment of the Zhejiang Telecom contract.
The IPTV systems of both Fujian and Zhejiang Telecom's simultaneous network capacities will be enhanced by the UTStarcom. At present, the company provides its services to over a million IPTV users in Fujian and around 650,000 users in Zhejiang.
In a release, Jack Lu UTStarcom President and CEO, said, "We are excited to have won these two contracts after a rigorous nationwide testing and bidding process. With UTStarcom's IPTV broadcasting control platform, all content distribution functionalities of IPTV, iDTV and Internet TV can be conducted in a safe environment. Two years ago, the company constructed six IPTV broadcast control platforms based in the cities of Sichuan, Shenzhen, Beijing, Hubei, Hunan and Shandong every one of which are connected to a central-level platform.
