NDS (News - Alert), a company offering set-top box software components and professional services, including systems integration, has inked a new agreement with French telecom operator Bouygues Telecom, to support the deployment of its next generation IPTV (News
- Alert) platform including their new set-top box (STB), the Bbox.
As per the new agreement, NDS is assigned to offer STB integration services for the launch of the new platform, and also to put together the consultancy and a selection of critical software components to enable an enhanced pay-TV experience.
Yves Padrines, NDS vice president and general manager EMEA, said that they are extremely pleased to be supporting Bouygues Telecom in the development of their next generation services.
Padrines said that they have worked closely together to define the requirements for the platform and to provide critical software components to give their subscribers a quality user experience and they look forward to supporting them in future deployments.
The Bouygues Telecom team will also utilize the NDS set-top box software components that offers graphical engine to support an enhanced user experience with HD and 3D capability. It also includes an application manager engine to enable the development and management of a whole host of innovative new apps based on HTML5 and Flash.
In addition, the NDS' set-top box software enables advanced services for subscribers around the world and enables the deployment of additional functionality and services throughout the lifetime of a platform.
