KT, a Korea-based integrated wired/wireless communications service provider, has selected
TANDBERG Television’s IPTV (

Alert) head end to strengthen its Mega TV IPTV service.
Company officials said that Mega TV has over 700,000 subscribers and provides interactive and pay per view services, including movies on-demand.
TANDBERG Television’s EN8090 HD MPEG-4 AVC and EN8030 SD MPEG-4 AVC encoders will be used by KT (

Alert) to expand its linear broadcast TV services.
The EN8090 series is TANDBERG Television's (
News -
Alert) second generation MPEG-4 AVC HD encoders and is ideally suited for operators wishing to launch new HD services for Satellite DTH; Digital Terrestrial Television; TV over DSL; Cable TV and VOD content authoring.
The EN8030 series is TANDBERG Television's second generation MPEG-4 AVC SD encoders and it is ideally suited to applications with restricted bandwidth such as TV over DSL; New DTH operations; VOD authoring and News gathering.

Alert) Net-Net session border controllers are capable of satisfying Korea Telecom’s critical security, service reach maximization, SLA assurance and revenue and cost-optimization requirements, according to the companies.
At these borders, Net-SAFE, Acme Packet’s security framework, provides denial of service attack prevention, access control and topology hiding required to protect KT’s VoIP core network, company officials say.
