AVerMedia Information, a provider of Digital Multimedia Technology, recently announced the commercial introduction of SnugTV, a solution that company officials note is “a fresh way to feel at home while on-the-go” and the perfect foil to AVerMedia's suite of TV tuner products.
The new offering makes it possible to watch live TV programs like games, hometown news and more directly through their personal computer, even when overseas. In addition, users can also view international TV programming regardless of where they are.
Stephen Dix, vice president of sales, Multimedia Division at AVerMedia Information, Inc. said, 'SnugTV brings TV entertainment to a whole new level. By eliminating the physical restrictions of location, SnugTV lets you enjoy and share your favorite TV programs at home or across the globe.'
SnugTV is compatible with any PC that is equipped with an AVerMedia TV tuner card and an active Internet connection. Users need only access the SnugTV Web site at www.snugtv.com to sign up for an account, view their own SnugTV or a friend's, set up their own SnugTV station or view SnugTV with SnugTV Mobile Player on a Windows Mobile device – version 6.0 and above.
When a user is not viewing the SnugTV, their friends can be given access to stream programs from their station, even if they don't have a TV tuner device deployed on their PC. This also means the subscriber can enjoy the television programs in a hotel room, for example, by accessing their SnugTV account and tuning into their “station.”
In addition to the ability to pair SnugTV with the iPhone (News - Alert), it’s also possible to schedule recordings and use an embedded electronic program guide to view what is being telecast on every channel.
