Telecommunications company, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd or “BSNL (News - Alert),” has reportedly selected Dilithium (News - Alert), a provider of mobile video infrastructure solutions enabling multimedia services, to deploy new mobile video and streaming services over 2G and 3G networks.
As per the agreement, Dilithium has also joined hands with Huawei (News - Alert) Technologies Co. Ltd. to deploy 3G Live TV and other video services in the BSNL south zone.
The solution includes the Dilithium DTG 3021 multimedia gateway and the DCA content adaptation and video streaming solution, enabling 2-way video calling and other advanced video services.
The DTG Multimedia Gateway (News - Alert) solution used by BSNL provides the multimedia solution for cellular, IP, and PSTN convergence as networks evolve towards IMS.
In addition the solution facilitates real-time transcoding, proxy functions for call signalling, command and control, and voice and video transcoding between multimedia systems protocols including 3G-324M/ H.324M, ITU-T H.323 and the IETF SIP.
“It has been an honor to work in another BSNL Zone to bring mobile video solutions to the India market,” said Prabhat Kumar Bhagvandas, vice president and general manager of India Operations.
“Our ability to provide comprehensive end to end solutions for both circuit switched and packet switched video makes us a good fit for BSNL’s requirements.”
