Whether it's a television advertisement, or a product plug on the radio, Google's Android (News - Alert) seems to be getting as much hype as the iPad. And a new initiative to expand the mobile device's platform will only further increase its consumer base.
As more and more people are relying on their mobile devices as a platform to improve application capabilities and overall awareness, future plans for multimedia access is on the map for Google's (News - Alert) Android.
The Appolicious Advisor, in association with Yahoo News, released a list of possible apps in anticipation of a Google TV capability for the Android.
For news junkies, there are a few pre-emptive apps the media outlet has predicted including a USA Today app that could potentially allow a user to select categories and topics to filter a customized news feed to the Android. There's also a WeatherBug (News - Alert) app that could offer traffic conditions and weather reports.
And, for gossip junkies like myself, a new E! News Android application could give free, breaking news, photos and videos, and the ability to keep up with E! programs.
For the social media gurus, Facebook and Twitter applications are already downloadable on the Android, which speak to the future of Google TV in lieu of social networking, but Hulu (News - Alert) for Android is yet to be released. However, experts say the Web-based media portal could be a huge hit on Google TV.
In addition, a media player may also be released depending on Google TV's own media player default offerings, and a Rhapsody Android app as well may come out in the near future.
