Voxeo is certainly one company to keep an eye on as it recently raised $4.5 million in equity from a single investor. The Tech Journal South recently reported on this success, citing the company's 100 percent year-over-year growth since 1999. The new funding was revealed in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Call Genie Inc. has reportedly entered into an agreement with 970198 Alberta Ltd. (StatsFone), a Calgary-based Voice XML/TTS software development company, to provide a unique application in which sports fans can call and vote for player of the game, and receive ads and coupons through the caller experience.



SpinVox, a global provider of voice to content messaging, has announced that Bell Mobility plans to offer the SpinVox voicemail-to-text service across its wireless network. Bell Mobility plans to make this service available immediately.



According to SVOX CEO Martin Reber, This latest improvement of SVOX core speech recognition technology allows our automotive and mobile customers to achieve even higher recognition rates in even more difficult noise conditions.



Further to the continuous demand for a better understanding of the competitive landscape in the interactive voice response, or IVR, market, Datamonitor, an independent, premium business information and market analysis company, has developed the IVR Decision Matrix report titled, Decision Matrix Selecting an IVR Vendor in the Enterprise Competitor Focus.



Ditech Networks, a provider of mobile voice processing solutions, recently introduced its new suite of SimulScribe voice-to-text services as well as its new toktok voice applications at the BroadSoft Connections 2009.



ICSA Labs and the Medical Transcription Industry Association reportedly announced the formation of a consortium to devise common standards and practices for creating and sharing digitized transcriptions of physician-dictated notes.
