Interactions Corporation, a provider of patented technology for automated voice and other interactive systems, released the findings of a study on consumer perceptions of Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Systems.

Oh, the humble IVR. Has any piece of technology even been more globally disliked? (OK, aside from the colonoscopy camera, maybe.) Boston-based voice solutions company Interactions Corporation has released the results of a study on what customers really think of interactive voice response systems (as in, “press one for English, press two to be put on hold for eternity, and press three if you'll just make us happy and go away forever.”)

Ford has said that it’s modifying the voice-recognition software on its Sync and MyFord Touch systems. The company is making changes to the software as it has been receiving complaints from drivers who, reportedly, find the connectivity tools frustrating or difficult to use. Mark Fields, president for the Americas at Ford, said that the company’s internal evaluation of its quality for 2011 is mixed and that it is making changes.

Wilmington, Delaware based provider of eClinical validation services RealityCorp announced the release of their functional testing product, ClinTest Voice v3.9. The solution is designed for the automated testing and validation of Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems, the company explained in a press release.

Nuance Communications Inc. announced that its Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search apps are available with Dutch language support for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on the App Store in the Netherlands.

Cellcrypt, a provider of encrypted voice calling on mobile phones, has launched encrypted voice calling for the iPhone.
